The Gaerwen Arms Pub and Restaurant has recently set on a path to establish itself as Anglesey’s most innovative quality fresh produce dining experience, spearheaded by locally-trained, dynamic head chef Daniel Owen.

Daniel learnt his craft at the White Eagle in Rhoscolyn, where his unique skills were recognised while on secondment to the Abode Restaurant in Chester, which ultimately led to him being invited to work for renowned two star Michelin chef Michael Caines at his restaurant at the Abode in Canterbury.

Daniel’s greatest desire is to develop his own brand, and when the invite came to head the Gaerwen Arms’ kitchen and restaurant, the birth of what is set to develop into a great adventure began.

Fresh locally-sourced produce is at the centre of Daniel’s inspiration when designing seasonal menus and his signature and special dishes.


I have been here several times over the past 6 months, and every time the food has been exceptional, the standard of which I would expect in a much higher priced restaurant, the last time I visited was for a group booking Christmas dinner for 17 of us, for a three course Christmas menu, again the food was way above great, and the service prompt and polite. Absolutely fantastic food, at very reasonable prices. A proper gastro-pub now, with delicious food, wonderfully presented.
